Why it Works for Your Clients

Lower Volatility
Stable Returns: Bonds & Fixed Income Securities can offer more stable returns compared to equities. This stability helps lower the overall volatility of a portfolio, especially during market turbulence.
Interest Payments: Paying regular interest provides a steady income stream and reduces reliance on capital gains for returns.

Portfolio
Diversification
Different Asset Class: Fixed Income often behaves differently from equities. In many cases, having an inverse or low correlation. This means that when one asset class underperforms, the other may perform well, leading to more balanced portfolio performance.

Capital Preservation
Safer Investments: Bonds, particularly government, bank and high-grade corporate bonds, are generally considered safer investments. They are less prone to significant price swings compared to equities.
Return of Principal: When held to maturity, bonds and fixed income securities generally return the principal amount invested, ensuring that investors recover their initial investment, reducing the risk of loss.

Interest Rate Management
Interest Rate Hedge: Holding a diversified mix of fixed income can help manage interest rate risks, as different products react differently to changes in interest rates. For example, shorter-duration bonds are less sensitive to interest rate hikes compared to long-term bonds.
